It doesn’t matter what sort of fly fisher you are, beginner to seasoned angler, you never stop learning – there are always new things to learn and improve on, especially when fishing warm tropical waters.

John Haenke is now offering fly fishing tuition specialising in tropical waters and species for all levels of fly anglers, designed to help you improve your skills and enjoy the whole fly fishing experience in tropical Australia.

This is a hands on approach to fly fishing: to improve casting skills if needed, or fine tune your knowledge of lines, flies and gear, practical knowledge of how to fly fish in tropical waters… all designed to get you onto the water catching fish with confidence.

Teaching efficient casts that catch fish, John prefers to teach by the water, with the additional opportunity to put the lessons into practice on the water.

Species John can cover are:

• Barramundi
• Mangrove Jacks and other estuary species
• Flats Species:
• Permit
• Golden Trevally
• Tuskfish
• Inshore Pelagics:
  • Queenfish
  • GT’s
  • Tuna

John will be offering one on one tuition, or to a small group if applicable, and the tuition will be designed for your skill level or what you would like to focus on.

Tuition is a minimum of 2 1/2 hours, but can be longer to incorporate an on-water experience where possible. He is often travelling, and can offer tuition in a variety of locations in Queensland.

John is still offering guided fly fishing in the Whitsunday region of North Queensland.
